mowing a lawn IS like doing drugs to him. it relaxes him. that's all he wants out of life and he's enjoying HIS life. except watching the Cowboys

I enjoy charcoal as a grilling option.

It's debatable that king of the hill is the best animated series of all time

It's the simplicity of their jokes that get me every time.
"Dale, we are going to steal a News van"
Dale: "It's the perfect crime! How will they be able to report it?"

Some people will just never comprehend the beauty of mother propane.

What's ironic is that you are calling out Hank Hill for being close minded, when you are in fact being pretty damn close minded right here.
Being open minded doesn't mean popping mollies and yelling "WOO", it's being able to accept that people enjoy different things to be happy in life and let them do that as you do whatever makes you happy.

I agree with him about the glory of propane and propane accessories.

I never liked the show much. Was boring to me and I didn't like the characters. Not enough fart jokes.

Different strokes for different folks.
Hank is legitimately happy mowing grass, drinking beer, selling propane, and being a family man.
The guy does a ton of good and doesn't hurt anyone.
I don't see why you'd disagree with that.
What makes you happy may not make him happy, and vice versa.

I refuse to see it as a pleasure
I agree, but just because it isn't a pleasure does not mean you should not take pride in doing your job well.
Sounds to me you are just a lazy a-hole.

I agree actually. I was wrong and you guys made a good point. I was being close minded and I'm glad you pointed that out. Who would have thought a thread on the movie board could change how I view life?

If I work 40 hours a week, and do a damn good job, then I'm not a lazy a-hole just because I don't take pride in it
Posted on 6/12/14 at 4:29 pm to Geaux9
I don't think you're lazy, but it sounds like could try making a conscious effort to see things in a more positive light.
It's good stuff.
It's good stuff.

Wait, so you don't take pride in your own work? That's fricking pathetic.

I've been working on that lately. I guess it would help to say I don't hve a career yet. Hopefully I can choose one that I'll actually be able to take pride in
