Original Halloween. The music theme just intensified the effect throughout the movie.

Not scariest of all-time, but the one that fricked me up the most at time of watching was my dad carrying me to see Friday the 13th Part 3 in 3D when I was 9 or 10.

Somehow though, Evil Dead did! You can't be serious, right? RIGHT?!?!? While a cool movie, the fake arse stop animation doesn't even frighten my 7yo who is scared at Hotel Transylvania, you pussy.

You really got me.

Tell you what, as soon as they remake 1408 you can call me out for real because all of the movies I mentioned in my first post were so popular that Hollywood thought it would be good to introduce them to a new generation.

Your assertion that the special effects make Evil Dead laughable to the point that YOUR 7 YEAR OLD LAUGHS IN OFF is hyperbole at its best. Evil Dead was an idependent movie in the 80s so to expect effects of much quality is absurd. However, it was good enough to get a few sequels and a remake. And guess what, douche : it was fricking scary.

1408 wasn't. I didn't even come at the OP that hard but I'm sure he's thankful for you knighting for him, Mr. Internet Justice guy.

The Grudge fricks me up every time.

I remember watching the Ring for the first time in a theater and it scaring the shite out of me.

Grudge was worse, still don't like to watch that shite.

This is like you are reading my mind. I owned The Grudge and watched it once. Never again because it creeped me out so much.

Pet Cemetery freaked me out.

I was about 8 when Poltergeist came out and that fricked my world up. I still can't be around clown stuffed dolls.

For me it's Insidious. I'm not saying it's the best horror movie, but to me it is the scariest.

I really feel like 1408 doesn't get the credit it deserves. I really enjoy that movie.

Everyone has different tastes. I enjoy horrors like this that focus on suspense and I think movies that focus on gore (like House of a Thousand Corpses) are just lazy and stupid.
