This was inspired from the "Bugs is 70" thread. There have been many great cartoons throughout my childhood. I have no idea how to decide which one is the greatest. Do you have a favorite? A few favorites? A list of many?

Some of the best:

Bugs Bunny and Friends
Tom and Jerry
The Flintstones
The Jetsons
Scooby Doo
Peanuts (their holiday specials are the best...but they had some great Saturday morning stuff, too)
Garfield and Friends (see Peanuts)
The Smurfs
GiJoe
He-man
Voltron (Lions...not cars...or that other one)
The Transformers (original)
Thundercats
Thundar the Barbarian
Count Duckula
Danger Mouse
Classic Disney
The Mysterious Cities of Gold
Ducktales
Alvin and the Chipmunks
MASK
The Flintstone Kids
Dungeons and Dragons
Spartakus and the Sun Beneath the Sea
TMNT
Turbo Teen

What did I miss? I was born in 77, by the way.

I assume we are talking about straight "cartoon series" and not including The Simpsons and the like?

My list is:

Tom and Jerry
Loony Tunes
Scooby Doo
The series of MGM/Tex Avery "House of Tomorrow" type shorts

I remember seeing it and liking it, but I lost interst. When I see it on, I might stop for a moment and smile....but that is about it. I don't think it held up well.

I do not know how I forgot to list those. I guess my brain was on cartoon overload. Rocky and Bullwinkle has always been one of my favorites. In fact, the first season was the first thing I watched when we hooked up the Netflix to the Wii.

I used to wake up at 5am around 85-86 to watch Fat Albert.

Can you give me the years? Animated Batman has had many versions. Unfortunatly, not all of them have been great.

Sure. Like I said before, I think my brain was on cartoon overload. We can also add The Simpsons, too. All three of these were debuted in prime-time and meant for a more adult-oriented audience, but so was The Flintstones.

Yeah but each series had a specific title.

TAS aired on Fox from September 7, 1992 to September 15, 1995.
