I was watching Ep 4 last night, and Vader just leaves the robe and saber on the floor of the death star. Doesn't bother to pick it up. You'd think it's have some sort of value to him.

Wouldn't surprise me if he kept it in his Death Star Quarters, but it was destroyed in the Death Star.

That's a story for another time...

Yep. Unless Vader picked it up and kept it on him when he got in his Tie fighter, it went up with the first Death Star.

Picked up by a janitorial droid.
Released into space in the next scheduled garbage dump.
It's out there.
It's out there man.

Judging from the rate of coincidence In the new sequels, it was launched out into space by the explosion and has been hurtling through space this entire time.
Finn will come out of light speed, stick his hand out of the millennium falcon, and have it land in his grasp.
He will then utter some catchphrase like, "And the catch is good! The crowd goes wild!"

The "Droid Please" thing is just dumb.
Not that he said it, but because of the implied context in which he said it, which does not exist.
To have the implied context, he needed a quick tooth-suck (tsk) and a constipated expression...not to mention a pause between droid and please.
But haters gonna hate.

That's easy. He lost it fighting Sidious in the senate assembly, then didn't bother to go back for it when he left.

He used the force so instead of bending down. Hung it from his rearview on the 1st death star.
