My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard,
And they're like
It's better than yours,
Damn right it's better than yours,
I can teach you,
But I have to charge

The whole sequence has massive sexual tension, that's why Vincent blows her a kiss, and in the bathroom tells himself to have a drink and go home that's it. i always thought they fell in love in the restaurant and knew in another life, they'd be perfect for each other.

That's a damn good milkshake, though probably not worth 5 dollars.

Filler

Something Tarantino probably thought was a cute addition or deep.

Meant nothing.

QT was a master of predicting inflation.

Milkshake made with your choice of any ice cream that they offer, blended in front of you with whole milk to your specified thickness, while the creamista asks if you want chocolate sauce, caramel, or malt powder added, and finishes up with whip cream, cherry, straw and long spoon.

for $4.95

ETA: frick, this is the movie board. I thought it was asking what I expected for a $5 milkshake

I'd go with the Amos and Andy over the Martin and Lewis myself.

A big arse bloody burger and tall milkshake is a lot of food for her skinny arse. Even if she is doing all that toot.

Jack Rabbits Slim's doesn't exist IRL.

That's a shame.

What's scarier is that Medieval Times from Cable Guy has long existed...in many locations across the country.

To me, it means $5 doesn't buy what it used to.

Upvote.

I always figured it was a scene that QT added just so he can help make the movie longer. We know how much QT loves long, drawn out movies.

It might very well mean nothing. But my interpretation is that Vincent is a man of principle, but not reason. He is balking at spending $5 on a milkshake but has no problem spending hundreds on heroin.

I've seen other interpretations but the one I agree with most is that the milkshake represents Mia.

She uses it to flirt with Vincent, and he flirts back by taking a sip. "I don't have cooties." - which is a literally childish interpretation of STD (at least broadly).

The shake is expensive (in the early 90s, anyway) - and Vincent admits it is pretty fricking good - not sure if it's worth $5.

Therefore, if he gives in and goes after Mia - the cost is that he will be killed (and likely Mia as well). The cost is too high. But the milkshake is still tasty and sweet.

Or it's just a $5 milkshake.

Right after she had done Coke in the bathroom she came out and her food was there. She commented on how she liked that.

Cocaine and a Burger and Milkshake does not compute.
She took one bite I think.

exactly. I'm always curious when I see people do blow in movies then sit down to eat a meal. Yeah right.
