[quote]Now, the idea behind Groundhog Day the film is quite different. Bill continues to wake up each day and holds on to his past (behaviors, attitude, regret, hate, anger, disgust...whatever). This is symbolic of Bill coming out of his hole, seeing his shadow, and retreating again. When he finally lets go of these things and decides to change, his shadow is gone....and Spring (love) is on its way...
So Groundhog Day is much more than a simple setting or a reoccurring motif. It is a central idea/major theme of the film. [quote]
The above statement was in my previous post. Did you miss it? And to add to this explanation, the impending Winter storm continues to keep him there, until the storm gives way to Spring. The holiday of GD is essential to the main idea/theme of the film.
Christmas really has NOTHING to do with DH, outside of the fact that it happens to be Christmas Eve when the film starts. He and his wife could have reconciled on any other day/holiday, considering that "Christmas" never actually happens in the film. The terrorists are not trying to stop Christmas, so that has nothing to do with it either.
I have said all of that before, as well...

This topic may have the potential to surpass A League of Their Own.
And no matter what y'all say, DH is a Christmas movie.
It is all about casting out evil and redemption.
And explosions.

Not to mention the lengths a man will go to bring his family together for the holidays.

Doesn't really count but the Harry Potter films. Started watching them during Xmas a few years ago, love them

Not very many Christmas characters go to the lengths McClane did.

So, by your requirements, The Exorcist and The Children of the Corn are Christmas movies.

Children of the Corn is more Thanksgiving related.
The Exorcist is suitable for all holidays.
