Solid week last week, with The Thing (greatest horror/sci-fi film of all time) and Chloe, which was surprisingly good. Good in the sense that Amanda Seyfried showed her big beautiful breasts, but bad because Julianne Moore did too.

I've got The Ghost Writer coming tomorrow. Directed by Roman Polanski (before he went to prison) and starring Ewan McGregor and Pierce Brosnan, this one looks pretty solid.

A writer (Ewan McGregor) stumbles upon a long-hidden secret when he agrees to help former British Prime Minister Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan) complete his memoirs on a remote island after the politician's assistant drowns in a mysterious accident. In director Roman Polanski's tense drama, the author realizes that his discovery threatens some very powerful people who will do anything to ensure that certain episodes from Lang's past remain buried.

What's in your queue this week?

Yeah I'd like to watch The Ghost Writer myself eventually. Haven't gotten anything new from netflix this week I still haven't watched the ones from last week yet.

Tonight I'm gonna clear more space off my dvr from the greatest channel on tv, TCM:

Got Chloe at home in today's mail, and started watching Friday Night Lights series from the beginning (2006). FNL is surprisingly good.

I've seen an episode here or there. Solid show. I intend to check it out from start to finish one day.

I'm at work so can't check...is this on Instant Watch? I find myself taking full advantage of this and ordering actual DVDs less.

Such an underrated classic. I haven't seen it in years. Didn't know it was available in the Instant Queue. Just added it.

I have a weird gripe about Netflix. For those of you who watch tv shows on instant view. Have you ever run across episodes that were on the same dvd where some were available for instant view, and others were only able to be viewed by DVD. I just don't understand how that happens. I have been watching quantum leap and this has happened a lot.

I've never had this problem. The only thing similar is that only certain seasons of shows (ie: Dexter) are available on Instant Queue, but I believe that has to do with how long ago the seasons ran.

The Ghost Writer was pretty good. It was very slow for the first hour and a half, but the climax was good and I enjoyed the ending. It was shot well.

I could have done without the blatant political undertones (the Condi Rice lookalike), but I guess I should have expected that. I guess I just prefer my political undertones to be more subtle.

Three stars out of five for me.

I had that problem with "Dead Like Me" and it pissed me the frick off. Half of the second season was chopped between instant and DVD. One of the very few things I have to complain about netflix.
