Way Way Back (spoilers)

I've seen this movie probably half a dozen times since it started on HBO a few weeks ago and the thing that keeps coming up in my mind is my opinion of Steve Carroll in this movie.
The opening scene with him asking the boy how he sees himself on a scale of 1 to 10 is rough but seems like an attempt to motivate and tough love. By the end of the movie you see him as a piece of shite but more so because he cheats on the woman.
This is one of my favorite movies of the past few years but I am a big Sam Rockwell fan and he does his thing well in this movie. Amanda Peat has aged really well, AnnaSophia Robb is a cute chick with a big ole' arse on her.
The character that I find odd of all the people in the movie is Rob Cordry's character. It's never established, that I am aware of, that he is married to Amanda Peat in the movie and he finds out that Steve Carroll slept with her. He doesn't seem shocked nor upset when it is screamed out at the end.

Yeah you would expect him to want to fight. But I think two things a) he doesn't dig her that much anyways b) knew they had hooked up in the past c) he's got his own side piece and doesn't really give a shite that she's got hers....three things.
