Amazing flick. Historical/dramatic biopic of George M. Cohan who received the congressional medal of honor for his patriotism. Dominated Broadway with his song and dance. He wrote Yankee Doodle Dandy, Over There, Grand Old Flag, Give My Regards to Broadway and many other notable tunes.
James Cagney is magnificent in the title role. Many lumps in the old throat before you finish this one. If you're into American classic film at it finest, you've gotta check it out.
