If Brendan hadn’t fricked up the dream final, who would have won in Tommy vs Koba?

Koba don't frick around

Tom Hardy's a badass but that's not even close to a fair fight.

Koba is an excellent wrestler also, but wasn’t Tommy undefeated wrestling champion when he was growing up?

I think Koba wins by submission.

Koba would've been coming off a tough fight with Brendan. Tommy ran through everyone like a buzzsaw. In a grand prix, shoot style format, wear and tear means a lot.

Tommy would have won the fight.

Remember when Gracie fought Kimo, won the match, but had to bow out of the final due to injury?

I'd go with Koba. Tommy was a natural talent, but so was Koba, and Koba trained consistently for years. Brendan with his grappling, chin and jiu jitsu was Koba's worst nightmare in the third fight.

Koba wins any fight no matter what, but if there's one person who can last longer than 5 seconds, it's Tom Hardy.

Tommy.

Koba was more beat down going into it plus I felt like Brendan's win over Tommy was related to their link, either emotionally and/or tactically (eg, knowing potential weaknesses from wrestling together since childhood), an advantage Koba would have had against Tommy.

Remember it clearly, and then Kimo came out celebrating like a bitch.

Tommy fricked everybody he fought’s world up. Koba could wrestle but he couldn’t handle the sheer power of Tommy. Koba would have gotten his head taken off like all the rest of them.

What a wonderful question. I would go with Tommy. Koba faded at the end of his third match, so stamina goes to tommy. Also Tommy and koba's styles are identical imo. I think Tommy's got more heart so I go with him. At the end of the day though, Brendan beat them both. So, grand prix format, all about luck. Great movie and great cast though, no doubt.

The scene where Nick Nolte falls off the wagon is as good as it gets.

Agreed. While there was some cheese in the movie, I feel like it also had some great acting that didn't get the recognition it deserved. That one scene is hard to forget and never gets old watching it. Helluva of a cast if you think about it.

I always thought Nolte in Warrior and Roark in The Wrestler were probably the two best acting perofmances I can in the past decade or so. They're so raw and authentic with two very flawed, yet sympathetic characters. Can't praise Nolte enough for that hotel scene
