I totally forget about movies at the library. I do audiobooks all the time.

They also have lots of blurays. Make your picks online, wait for the email, go pick up.

It's been awhile since I've done this, but EBR used to have great selection. Like someone else said, you log into your account, make your picks, and wait for the notice that it's at your local branch.

Like someone else said, they also have series, and unless things have changed, the box is counted, not individual discs (they'd limit it to something like 10 checked out at a time). GoT complete seasons each counted as 1 apiece. It's how I got into GoT, as I was able to watch the first 3 seasons in a binge session

Someone else mentioned streaming; I wasn't into Kodi at the time, and you weigh the pros and cons of each: possible scratches on the discs vs buffering on the stream. My PS3 could read damn near everything, and of course, libraries are legal

Last I checked on EBR, they were getting new releases the same time Red Box or OnDemand was. Sometimes you were on a waiting list, but it usually didn't take too long.

I did this for the first time this week. The kids section had 100s of movies plus the kids like the idea of picking out and returning the movies.

Very cool. I donated my entire DVD collection (about 300 movies/tv series) to some random small town library in Ohio. Just shipped them off and asked for a letter showing the charitable donation. They were appreciative, but were like WTF since some random person shipped them a box of moves from NYC.

They wrote me asked what my connection was to their town. I said none. It just so happened that their library was the first to pop up when I googled DVD donationto library for charitable donation.

Here's a :csb:. My buddy (this is about 15 years ago when we were both 16) rented out Revenge of the Nerds. It had a PG rating on the cover the library used. What an unexpected prize that movie turned out to be.
