Rollo made a difficult decision. If he knew the French record on wars he might have hedged a little more.

Just watched an IGN interview with the actors who play lagatha, Ragnar, rollo and bjorn from July 2015. In it they talk about how this season we may be getting many more episodes instead of th usual 10. Rumor was they were shooting 20 episodes. Not sure if they were shooting two seasons at once or were shooting 20 episodes for this season.

Link to IGN interview. They discuss the episode increase at the 2:30 mark.

I hope this ended being the case because the 10 episode seasons went by so quickly and left you wanting MOAR, much MOAR. So here's to a hopeful 20 episode season 4!

Will be very interesting to see how Ragnar defends against all of those crossbows.

Ragnar will have them too, did you see where Largertha cut the dude's manhood off? They had a dozen of them so they clearly have started to produce them. (They only had the one when they got back from Paris.)

I had just assumed they brought back more than that just one but that makes sense.

Either way, they are masters at woodworking so having them means they can replicate and they obviously see the value of them.

They gonna be wrecking things

Seriously. Ragnar takes his arse back one time already (he should be pissed himself for taking him back versus Bjorn leaving him there IMO) and he pulls that shite. I was somewhat ok with the self-preservation move until he wiped out the Vikings there.

Lagertha's my homegirl.

Saw in the preview where that skanky Aslaug bitch is going to have someone come in to overthrow Ragnar. She's another one that needs to be blood eagled.

Rollo doesn't die. In fact, he becomes one of the most defining historical figures in the formation of Europe and the first ruler of Normandy. His grandson is William the conquerer and the leader of the heathen army in the Norman invasion of 1066 who would become king of all England.

Rollo history

Norman history

Also, Floki doesn't die in Norse history. He discovers and settles the first settlements in Iceland.

Ragnars death occurs when he is captured by King Ella and is thrown into a pit of vipers. His sons Bjorn, Sigurd and Ivar invade later in history to avenge their fathers death and kill King Ella.

Rollo ruling France is going to be awesome.

Kind of shitty he took out his tribe but that's the game.

He took out his tribe, but I am alone here or does anyone else suspect they were going to try to kill him? He seemed really happy to see the his friend in the castle, however he must have suspected something.

Killing women and children is never cool though. That was pretty ruthless.

Just watched the episode Saturday morning. I'm with you on suspecting that Rollo was probably going to be ambushed. And the castration scene was brutal. Lagertha is a fricking boss.

Pretty sure they foreshadowed that with the snakes in the opening scene

Oh I know. But they've been really loose with the actual history in this series. So much so that Bjorn's mother is actually Aslug, not lagatha. Ragnar was married to Aslug before he married Lagatha. And Ivar is actually the oldest son of Ragnar, not Bjorn. And also, Ragnar and Rollo are not brothers or related.

Also, it was Ragnar's son who was really in the coffin, not Ragnar and it happened after Ragnar was killed in the viper pit.
