I wonder if they're going to use the modern take on Castlevania in which Gabriel Belmont (the first Belmont) becomes Dracula.

The main character of Castlevania III is Trevor Belmont.
In Lords of Shadow, it is revealed that Trevor is Gabriel Belmont's son and becomes Alucard. Simon Belmont is the son of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades.
The "last surviving Belmont" is usually Richter in the 20th century.

Castlevania 2 is one of the all time great Nintendo games. Such a creepy aura created with those 8 bit graphics and music.

This is only for the Lords of Shadow reboot and doesn't apply to the older games.
Edit: It's an alternate/new universe.
