Looks like contrived buffoonery played by men who should know better set against a backdrop of cliche lessons learned and pretty scenery. If it happens to show on HBO and I happen to have HBO at that point, maybe--maybe--I'll watch it. May instead I'll watch a rerun of I Love Lucy.

The book is absolutely hysterical. I can picture Nick Nolte as the old friend of the author who is truly unprepared to go hiking. I'm not sure the book needs a movie, but Bryson is a really good travel writer... go read his books.

Quit reading the book when they left the trail and jumped in a cab. It really pissed me off for some reason. I guess I should finish it before the movie comes out.
