I love Hardy but TDKR is easily the worst Nolan Batman movie

I'm wondering if they will go the route of the Solo Venom comics where Eddie Brock is in San Francisco, coming to grips with his symbiote, and also learning to embrace being the anti hero and fight crime, albeit in a much more brutal fashion.

As far as I know this is only his second comic book flick and Dark Knight Rises was fairly divisive w/audiences.

Will he speak as Venom?

Cause I won't be able to understand a word of he does. Maybe they'll have translations on screen

Not sure what defines a spinoff, but the linked article states it not being one.

quote:

The high-priority project is being developed as its own standalone feature, not as a Spider-Man spin-off, as the studio attempts to launch their own extended cinematic universe that will utilize characters from their surprisingly large Marvel library. It's still uncertain at this point in time whether his archrival Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming) or by an older actor, will make any sort of appearance in this upcoming venture.

I have this stored away somewhere. I guess I need to read it again.

This is also bittersweet. Pretty much means he is out as Bond if Craig does not reprise his role. No way he can do both in the next two years.

That's actually a good point, especially if Chris Nolan ends up directing it.

Christopher Nolan directing a Bond film staring Michael Fassbender would be unbelievable news

I can't see this not being dark and awesome

Wait, I was told over and over on here that dark and gritty was turrible and light-hearted and hopeful is the only way to make good comic character movies*.

*Don't misunderstand, I think this is going to be great. The darker and more brutal the better. I just want to document the usual M/TV board hypocrisy and double standard.

No one said that. It's character dependent.

So I know this is a reach, but since Venom is an alien life form could they just make this an alternate earth universe? Introduce Morales as the sony Spider-Man and let the MCU keep Parker?

Batman is a dark hero. His costume is black and greys. His city is dirty and gritty. He needs a dark and gritty movie.

Superman wears red and blue. His city and bright and bustling. He should not be dark and gritty.

Ironman wears a suit made of gold and red. He is brash and witty. He should not be dark and gritty.

Wolverine has metal claws. He is the best at what he does, and what he does isn't pretty. He should be dark and gritty.

Captain America is a symbol of patriotism and wears the flag. He should not be dark and gritty.

Venom is an evil alien that brings out the worst in its host. He should be dark and gritty.

I can try and draw a diagram, but I'm a shitty artist.
