What did you guys think of his performance?
Seems pretty shocking that he wasn't at least nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actor in a leading role.

Yeah he was nominated for a Golden Globe. Interesting he didn't get a nom for an Oscar.

The look he gives when she asks him "are you in any pain right now?" is amazing. Like when he makes eye contact with her.

Just watched the scene and read a bit about it. The nurse is an actual nurse in the navy. Apparently she just did her job while he just freestyled the scene. Also, at 1:47 she bumps into the camera pretty hard

I thought he played the role perfectly, but I didn't care for the movie after reading how big of a d-bag the real captain Phillips was.

Agree, the Hanks performance was a bit blahh. The actors playing the lead pirate should have won some award. He was completely believable.
