It's a Buzzfeed article but not one of those dumb fricking list ones.

LINK

So I always fricking hated the ending to Titanic. That old bag just fricking throws it off the edge like, "Whatever, some dude didn't just sink his entire life's work into this priceless jewel."

But given the choice between the real ending and this alternate ending, I would have to take the real one 10/10 times.

The original ending is horrible and the alternate is even worse. Granted the diamond is fake, but I remember reading estimates that would have been worth any where from 50 to 200 million dollars. That old selfish bag kept it all along in case she needed the money. Once she was about to die, she tosses it so no one can have it. What about her family or even a charity? Nope. frick you.

eta: I could be WAY off on what I read years ago about the diamond's worth. Either way, if it was worth 1 million, she's still a selfish old bitch.

I've said the same thing for years. She could have set her family up to extremely financially stable. This alternative ending proves even further of how much of an awful person Rose was.

Wow. I don't even remember the original ending, but what a count to just toss that off the rig like that. And she even had the nerve to do with a little "WHOOOPS!" noise and smirk as she does it.

What a bitch.

No wonder so many women LOVE this bullshite movie.

Though to be fair, Bill Paxton should've just snatched it when it was in his hand. Also, diving in after it could've worked as well.

Why didn't they just have her die in her sleep and instead of tossing the rock, just have her leave it on her nightstand or some shite so when they find her dead they find the stone too?

I mean in real world logic, she should have definitely sold that mother fricker and her family would have been financially set. But in the spirit of the movie, I get why she didn't.

The crew found where the remnants of the titanic were and pulled a random old arse nudie from it but if some old bag just drops it off the ship right in front of them it's gone forever?

Please...

I hated this movie so much I couldn't make it to the end.

Now I'm glad I didn't. I'd have hated it more.

If that old bitch really thought she would come back home and have me keep taking care of her she'd have another thing coming. Watching someone do that in real life would make me tear up even if I stood nothing to gain. Closest living family member and I'm suicidal. It was actually probably more fricked up to do that to Paxton. He dedicated his life to tracking the diamond down and she stole his dream just so the next time she told her boring story she'd be slightly more satisfied with the ending.

I don't know...it's one thing for them to find shite that went down with the ship. That stuff will obviously be in the wreckage. But dropping something like that at the surface of the ocean...it likely will travel miles (if not hundreds) thanks to the strong currents in the oceans. It's not like it just falls straight to the bottom right there.

Looking for wreckage of a giant ship =/= looking for a tiny necklace at the bottom of the ocean.

Yeah I see your point. I just think that if they acted quickly enough and seeing how they know almost exactly where she dropped it, they would have a good chance at finding it.

I agree. 5 minutes after that thing hits the surface it's more gone than ever before.

You'd think someone would have jumped in for it instead of standing around laughing at the old hag.

Interesting...

Titanic would have been like The Abyss. Pretty solid movie that goes to complete shite at the end.
