Mainstream recognition doesn't mean anything when it comes to this. However, Denis Leary definitely stole his a-hole song from a Louis joke.

I believe this woman because she has shite to lose by saying it. She has a critically acclaimed show for which CK is the producer.
the only thing the two skits have in common is a clown performs for one person. That's where the similarities end.

I don't know if CK's bit is on tape, but he used to have a bit about being an a-hole and just accepting it. Leary was performing after Louis one night and saw CK's act before he went on. He said he loved the idea of being an a-hole, accepting it, and being ok with it. He even expounded on it while talking to Louis at the show. Shortly thereafter, Leary came out with his song "a-hole" and even including some of the parts of CK's bit.

Uh no. It legitimately was the best episode of the season.

Two things stick out to me

1. You just take his word for it
2. That's a thought as old as time and moreover the song is funny because the things Leary (and the song had a co writer. 2 people to steal a joke?) mentions in the song are petty relative to being labeled an a-hole

Maybe he did steal it, who knows but you said he absolutely stole it because Louis ck said he did. My impression of him was a guy who was bitter that less funny people were super fricking famous and successful and he wasn't. That's still my impression. I think a lot of people's introduction to him was oh this is the guy I heard all these famous comedians stole from. When they wrote about it it was "Dane cook stole from a comedian named Louis ck" not "he stole from Louis ck"

And here we are and if her movie has that same premise, no question he took it...according to her he's seen it

That was actually one of the better SNLs in recent memory IMO.

Yeah who hasn't thought of a depressed person ordering a clown from a delivery person

Also she says they are aware of the movie. This also isn't the first time this season I would say SNL has had a writer see something and then do the same thing.

One guy says, "I want to make a song about this premise. Help me flesh this out."

Or Louis ck thinks he invented the concept which is older than time. And again, what you described (but haven't seen) is different.

a-hole is funny but "do you know what annoys me" ...I walk around in the summer time saying how about this heat... is something everyone including everyone here has done. You've never blown up a tiny thing to be more than it is in a funny way? Please

I guess he also invented "differences between black people and white people" and "women be like and men be like"

Louis ck is funny but I think he's an insufferable douche

Louis is hugely successful and famous. Especially when it comes to stand up.

Dane cook was also famous and successful, doesn't mean he was funny

Him and Louis are both hacks

He is now not when Dane cook was selling out arenas

I can understand being jealous and annoyed at someone with no talent being wildly successful while that same success escapes you. He's funny and Dane cook is not

Louis ck was not famous in 2006 and 2007. Successful sure. Famous?

He's sure as shite famous now.
