You are very late and will need to catch up
My son watched all 6 movies by probably 3.5 years old. He pretty much went to bed every night watching one of them for about 4 months. We are up to date on Star Wars Rebels and still working through the Clone Wars.
Did Disney for his 4th birthday and he got to fight Vader. Was Darth last Halloween.
At 4.5 years old now, he has surpassed my 30 years of Star Wars knowledge and I ask him questions
He is wanting to watch Indiana Jones, however I have not gave in to that one yet. It is a little more real and graphic.

My son is 6, will be 7 in January
I was around that age when my parents first introduced me to Star Wars. I do know it was shortly after the release of the digitally remastered VHS version in 1993.

My son watched rebels last year and watches some of the clone wars stuff on Netflix so I figure we will sit down and watch the movies soon. He is five though and he does not always make it through movies.
I did take down some of my old Star Wars toys and it warms my heart to see him playing with the original Falcon, Death Star, Hoth and Degobah sets

What age do you think it's appropriate to show him the Indiana Jones films?
I agree that they're a little more realistic and graphic, people getting their faces melted off, hearts being pulled out, etc...
7?

I am feeling that 6-7 year old time frame would be OK. That or maybe just skip those scenes
1. Ark being opened
2. Heart being pulled out
3. Choosing poorly
Outside of those 3 scenes, it is not that bad.

Good points. I wasn't thinking about that horrible ending, just the overall special effects.
