It would be hard to find an actor that could play the role of Mulder like Duchovny did, imo.

With approval rating for politicians at an all time low and all of the snowden revelations, I think the time is right for a show about FBI agents chasing down government conspiracies.

They will surely have to do something, because I imagine the six episodes will kill the ratings. Have they said anywhere that they plan on just doing the six episodes and being done, or is there a possibility for it to continue?

that's what I've maintained this entire time...the writing and direction made everything so great, they have to get the whole gang back together

Good point. No one trusts the government in 2015. In 1993 people were more concerned with buying stock in the next internet company to come along.
