Who was your favorite character on HBO's The Wire?

Omar.

And gives a would-be assassin a peck on the ear before shanking him
Omar is easily my favorite character. The actor that plays him had his face and neck slashed with a razor in a bar fight in his 20's, and said that the scar ultimately helped make his career.

Yeah, I'd like to pick a side character, but Omar really was an extremely well written and well acted character.
As far as side characters, I really like Bodie. Then Chris and Snoop from the later seasons.

I like Snoop's accent, and her "YAHEARD" call. Stephen King called her the most terrifying female villain to ever appear in a television series. Real-life Baltimore crackbaby.

Omar but I do like Clay Davis. I don't have words to describe how awesome his scene when on the stand during his corruption trial was.

You should've said "besides Omar." He's everyone's favorite.
I'd have to go with Bodie followed closely by Clay.

DeAngelo was a great character that gets forgotten when I talk to people. The actor that played him did a great job.

Obviously Omar is number 1.
Stringer Bell would probably be number 2.
Then Freamon -- I really liked him for some reason.
