you say this like it's set in stone, but Daryl is probably the most popular character and the writers know that.
since Daryl isn't in the comics, how do you know they will kill him off? like all the comic readers here say, the show only loosely follows the comic story arc.

I don't know, just forecasting. Besides, Reedus is the hottest star on the show and may be ready to expand his brand.
To me, this series is about Rick and his son's growth in this new world. The other characters are just to flesh out the journey.

I think all of the characters from Season 1 and 2 will be killed off eventually except for maybe Rick and Carl.
ETA: However, they will write for Daryl as long as Reedus wants to play him, I would think.

I can answer that by saying: just because you're popular doesn't mean you're invincible. You got to shake things up every once in awhile. One thing the readers will tell you is, no one is safe. Except for MAYBE Rick and Carl. Emphasis on the maybe. But I'm not going any further than that.
