You don't just walk away from finding out your entire life was a lie. Not to mention the media converge that would still be all over him after he got out, and even with that disappearing eventually, when you go 30 years and find out that the whole worlds been watching your every move, do you every really believe that you aren't just in another tv show? Since most of the terms (psycho, schizophrenic, etc.) are related to either more innate and less malleable traits (personality, physiology), your hypotheses are unlikely, at least in terms of psychopathology. Now he may have developed depression/anxiety and became withdrawn, but they would likely bear little resemblance to schizophrenia and anti social personality disorder. In other words, he was a good guy, and would have liked remained a good guy. Any withdrawal would at least have some rational basis in reality.

This closer to reality, which is a shame because it's my favorite performance of his.
