I've been watching this show tonight. The episode on now is "History of the Civil Rights Movement". It brings back some bad/sad memories of when I became a teenager in 1964.
This is a pretty good series with a lot of archived film. The episode on TV shows during the time was very good. For those of us who lived through the times, it will stir memories. For those of you too young to have lived through this time, watch to see the quality (or lack thereof) of what we saw on TV.

I watched the episode on the Vietnam War. Pretty interesting stuff and like you said lots of coverage. Had some audio tapes of conversations between LBJ and cabinet members too.

They are showing that episode now. It's interesting to see JFK being interviewed by Huntley and Brinkley. His inauguration was the first I remember seeing as a 9 year old kid. My family voted for Nixon, but my folks made me watch it. I was in the 7th grade when JFK was killed. I had never heard of Viet Nam then. But by the time I was in H.S. it was the lead story every night for years.
I love the music from my HS years ('65-'69), but it was scary growing up in the '60s. The Cold War was in full swing; assassinations of JFK, MLK, and RFK; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the threat of nuclear war; the Berlin Wall; racial unrest, etc. Many romanticize the days of their youth, but there is a lot about the '60s that make me wonder how we survived it all.
