Am I the only person who wants to see this movie for the sole fact that Blake Lively is gonna be in a bikini the entire movie?

Maybe. I don't find her all that attractive(for a celebrity) and she's not a good actress, however, I kind of want to see that movie. It doesn't look that bad.

I recognize objectively that she is good looking....but she just doesn't do it for me.

I saw the preview last night. So...it's a movie about a rock, a buoy, about 100 square yards of ocean, Blake Lively, and a shark that is absurdly fixated on killing one person?

Jaws is great, but its just as unrealistic as this movie if not a lot more. Most of the plot is either completely impossible or just flat out wrong.
The rouge theory about great whites is a complete farce.
Great whites aren't great predators who kill everything they get their hands on and refuse to leave until they get the kill. They're scavengers who want an easy meal and will turn tail and run if something puts up a fight.
They dont stake their "claim" on a nice fat piece of ocean.
Quinn's story about the Indianapolis is complete horse shite too. They DID send out a distress signal, which was picked up by 3 different American radio stations. The first station operator was drunk, the second ignored it and the third thought it was a Japanese trick.
They also didn't deliver "the bomb", they delivered parts for it. Not the bomb itself.
Their absence not being reported had nothing to do with a desire to maintain secrecy, and everything to do with complete neglect on the part of the US Navy.
The port the Indianapolis was set to arrive to after their delivery had marked that the Indianapolis had indeed arrived, despite the fact they had clearly not. The Navy had no idea anything had happened to her until a PBY flew overhead and spotted the survivors in the water.

Nope, Jaws was based on the Matawan Creek incident in 1916 that had 4 attacks in 12 days by a juvenile Great White.
Jaws is a much more believable storyline than a Great White coming very close to shore and spending days trying to kill a women on a rock.

Well no shite. Sharks don't have hands. That would be terrifying, though. Could you imagine if sharks had hands with opposable thumbs they could use to help trap you for the kill?

No different from a shark pursuing a fricking boat into the ocean for no fricking reason.
Again, I love Jaws. Jaws permanently destroyed the beach for me and I haven't been to the beach since I was a child and will never again.
The Shallows might suck. But to say it sucks because of realism but then praise Jaws for the same reason is not very smart.

Yes, rogues "in theory" do not exist and tons of research has been done to show that.
But how do you explain that incident in 1916?
It's evidence that it's POSSIBLE, just not likely.
