The January 2015 issue of Shueisha's V Jump magazine is revealing on Friday the first key visual for the upcoming 2015 Dragon Ball Z film. The magazine also unveils the film's title: Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F (Dragon Ball Z: F Is For Fukkatsu, or 'resurrection').

The image features not only Frieza, but Beerus, the villain from last year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. The magazine also confirms that the film will premiere in Japanese theaters on April 18 in both 2D and 3D.

In an interview with original creator Akira Toriyama in the magazine, he says that the 'F' in the title in fact stands for "Frieza," who will be revived in the film. Toriyama noted that he thought of the title while listening to the song "F" by Band Maximum The Hormone, who he came to know personally through a friend. In fact, one of the members told him that they had been singing the song about Frieza.

The magazine describes the story:

An Earth where peace has arrived. However, remnants of Frieza's army Sorbet and Tagoma (from the Japanese word for 'egg') arrive on the planet. Their goal is to revive Frieza with the dragon balls. Their dastardly wish is granted, the "F" that plans its revenge against the Saiyans is revived...!

Also being revealed are two new characters who were designed by Akira Toriyama himself: Sorbet (seen left in the image above) and Tagoma (right). The characters are the survivors of the Frieza army and his servants.

Dragon Ball manga creator Akira Toriyama is personally credited with the original concept, screenplay and character designs of the new movie "that the entire universe eagerly awaits!!" The movie will open during the Golden Week string of holidays next spring (April 25 is the Saturday before those holidays next year), and a flyer revealed that Dragon Ball Z animation director Tadayoshi Yamamuro will direct the new movie.

The new film, like last year's Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods, will tell a new story.

I can't wait. How will they make Frieza able to compete at such and insane high level. The current sayains would drop Frieza in a matter of seconds.

That's the question. It's been rumored this film will be more about Vegeta and he'll be the hero. Makes sense if Frieza is the bad guy. Hope captain Ginyu makes a cameo...hopping around

there will have to be some reason Frieza is strong enough now. perhaps thats where beerus comes into play. i think he may boost friezas power level in interest of "chaos."

i hope this is finally the closure Vegeta has wanted for so long against Frieza

let me guess. Goku and Vegeta will struggle against Frieza before realizing that they can in fact go super saiyan 2/3 and then kick his arse. Most likely with a spirit bomb.

Vegeta will become SSG. It's just a matter of figuring out how Frieza will be strong enough to actuall by a real threat. Maybe Frieza worked out some stuff to become a god level power while in the underworld?

WRONG! This isnt old DBZ, obviously this will happen:

Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta fight frieza and do pretty well, then Frieza knocks one of them out of commission.

All three of them leave in order to rehab the one injured.

Frieza kills Picolo, Krillin, and everyone else.

Whoever was hurt earlier is ready.

Goku fights first. He dominates, then lets up and Frieza kills him. As he dies he winks at Gohan and says, get him my son. King Kai is PISSED.

Gohan then fights and is stupidly awesomely more powerful than anyone else and no one can touch him. But instead of killing Frieza he fricks with him incessantly until Frieza gains a small upper hand and kills him also.

THEN

As Gohan dies, we here a sinister yet proud laugh as Vegeta emerges from the shadows, arms folded, head down. "Oh Kakarot, you and your patheitc son have both fallen to Frieza. It is now up to me, the Prince of all Sayains, the most powerful fighter in the universe to defeat frieza.

Vegeta and Frieza fight. And it is awesome, but Frieza seems to have the upper hand. To be an a-hole, he throws a rock at Vegeta, who dodges it.

After it wizzes past his head, we hear a scream. Bulma, being the nosy bitch she always is, snuck up on the battle in a hover motorcycle without anyone noticing.

Vegeta, at the sight of his beloved Bulma hurt, flies into a rage and releases a torrent galic gun and culminates the attack with a Final Flash, obliterating Frieza and half the planet with him.

The movie ends with Goku goofily jumping around snake way, gohan and Picolo training at Kai's place, and Vegeta nailing Bulma with a huge grin on his face as the most powerful and victorious Sayain in the universe.

Fricking tear. I hope so, Vegeta deserves to be the main character for a change. I'm not just saying that because he's my favorite, but it's his turn.
