I want to know how King Vegeta came to power and how Bardock was during that same time period also Raditz, how much older is he than Kakacarrotcake? What was he doing before coming to earth? Just fighting with Bardock?

I was wondering the same thing the other day. Seems like Cell could just absorb some pretty powerful dudes, and become a pretty big threat again.

Yeah, this is why I'm fascinated by Bardock: The Father Of Goku. It shows a good bit of Planet Vegeta, and a mass of Saiyans. Plus we got to see Bardock and his crew on jobs conquering planets.
I'd assume Raditz would be between Nappa and Vegeta age wise.

Then again Cell is an android and maybe he's only capable of absorbing 17 and 18? He had the chance to absorb 16 and didn't.

He absorbed entire cities too. Maybe there's a limit to his power and he can only absorb so much energy?

Something like this I think. All that stuff was just leading up to his perfect form. He had to have enough energy to transform into his perfect form and that's why he absorbed those cities. Then once he transformed he had reached his potential. Like android 17 and android 18 were specifically the pieces that he needed to reach his potential. Absorbing anyone else wasn't going to give him any real boost of power. At least that's how I took it.
The real issue with the villains keeping their bodies is that it made an inconsistency. I'm pretty sure that it was stated that getting to keep your body in the afterlife was a reward for being good. I'm pretty sure that Vegeta didn't get to keep his body.

This. Very inconsistent, but without the inconsistencies, we wouldn't be talking about it. Cell still has his tail in his perfect form, so I'd guess he could still absorb people. He also has Saiyan genetics. Cell can receive a zenkai after serious injury. He could easily gain power that way.
