There's still so much they could cover that he did even just in the 70s after becoming an independent producer again and had hits like Mararhon Man, Urban Cowboy and Black Sunday.

You can say that again. Seven marriages. Cocaine trafficking and more.

I just finished a podcast on The Cotton Club Murders. Christian Slater played Robert Evans but you might as well say that he was playing Christian Slater. He didn't even seem to be trying to sound anything like Robert Evans.

thought that dinner was pretty silly and way over the top. Goode is so real as Evans, then they do stuff like this.

Im pretty sure that dinner scene really happened. It wasn't made up for the show

So in the first several episodes there are several scenes and lines that are straight from the movie.

Pacino never gets this part.

The New York big wig explaining why he must say no to Ruddy. And several others.

Are these just fun Easter eggs, or did Ruddy suggest they get worked into the script for the movie?

No, they're just forcing these lines in to be cute. The first lines uttered by the Mafia in this series is a take on the "Leave the gun, take the cannoli" meme. I wish they'd drop this stuff. It takes away from the series.

This damn show is so excellent. So many good roles but Teller holds it down as the foundation surrounded by wildly talented others.

The one tonight with the head of Gulf Western giving the “don’t evuh let them know what you’re thinking” speech was pretty ridiculous.

Still Goode's Evans character steals the show . Get on a plane and snort half of Columbia before a meeting with Bluhorn and the board and then gives an inspirational speech.

Gorman does a really good job as Charlie Bluhorn he's hilarious but in a non clown way.

Ribisi makes Joe Columbo out to be a guy you want to sit down and eat anti-pasto with. He's right though, to disobey Carlo Gambino in regards to Gallo. But, he missed Gallo....big mistake.

Not going to read the thread because of spoilers, but what is the general consensus of the show? Any good? This was going to be my next watch bc Godfather is my favorite movie of all time. Didn't want to watch if it wasn't very accurate.

I find it extremely well done. Weirdly…efficient - little or no fluff or filler scenes. The performances are great.

I was expecting the typical biographical drama miniseries, fairly good but dragged out, so-so portrayals, etc but no, this is really good.

I probably had more problems with it than most, and yet it's the first thing we watch Thursday nights. It is highly entertaining on pretty much every level. Most people in here are loving it. Hell, my assistant loves it and she has zero interest in The Godfather or mob cinema. If you're a fan of Robert Evans' "The Kid Stays in the Picture" documentary, this series is a must-see.

Not sure what you’re asking but it’s available to rent on Amazon, YouTube, etc. It’s a great watch.

Originally I read the first part of the thread and due to that put it on the back burner. Then after a couple of weeks I started it and it is REALLY good. Is it perfect, no but it is one of the better shows active right now IMO.

If she has to change your catheter, she can probably put up with anything.

I meant quality/depth level. Is it just a interesting bit to watch in passing or something great for a Fri/Sat night viewing.

Anyway I watched the first 45 minutes of it and it’s quite interesting. Evans’ voice is gold and it’s crazy how well the actor in Offer nailed it too.
