Serious question...
Do you like The West Wing?

Funny, I have read things about it that contradict what you are Saying. You watch an entire season of a show that you don't like to see if they "can turn it around"? Sure you did.
And the writers were not fired.

The writers weren't fired. They just brought on some different writers with conservative political ties to consult.

quote:True. I read the initial articles back when they came out. Evidently they updated later to say it wasn't true. See one of the many links to reputable sites claiming the writers were fired.

Why wouldn't I expect him to turn it around. Almost everything he has done has been gold other than Studio 60 and now this show.
Forthermore, see my SGU thread for proof I am a glutton for punishment.

I can see why most people thought they were fired. Internet news never really did make it very clear as to what happened to them.

I seem to recall way back then, Sorkin mentioning he might need a different perspective so I guess someone took that to mean old staff out, new staff in....then they fabricated a story and as you can see it then spread like wildfire.
And I never followed up again cause the season was over. I not only watched the full season but did most of the episodes in a marathon.
I tend to do that with most short cable series although I got burned with Red Wedding news all over the damn place with Games of Thrones.

It was a little slow, but I think it will pick up. They are going to go all the way through the election, so there is plenty of material to cover. The love story shite just ain't working. I'd rather see Olivia Munn's clumsy attempts at it than the other one involving Alison Pill.

I watched. I actually liked it a lot... I think it sets up a more dramatic season that tones down some of the relationships a good bit. Maggie going off the deep end at some point definitely sets the tone for her character not being so middle school girl-y... The whole Genoa thing should definitely keep things interesting too.

I just can't deal with it anymore.
The dialogue is driving me nuts.
And the characters are so hard to like.
Sorkin needs someone keeping him in check.

It was OK, enough to get me tuned in for season 2.

If Will was a democrat it would make sense but since he claims to be a conservative the show makes no sense since he ONLY attacks
I agree with this premise, however Will never said he was a conservative. He said he was a Republican. These two things are not the same.
Discovering what this Genoa thing is and why everyone is in deep shite should keep this season interesting.

I thought it was good. I really enjoyed it. "Better get some gas. What's Obama got it at $4.50 now?"

I enjoyed it. Don is probably my favorite character on the show and was glad to see him dump Maggie on her arse. I'm all for Team Sloan. I borderline loathe Maggie/Jim right now.
My money is on Maggie going to Uganda and getting raped/attacked or something like that. I'm interested in seeing how it pans out.
The Genoa arc is also intriguing to me. Looks like it could be a decent season.

Was anyone else really disappointed that they changed the intro to the show?
I thought the whole premise was that they wanted News Night to get back to the quality reporting from the days of Murrow and Cronkite. The old intro was very classic and inspiring. New one is a pile of shite.
