Just watched it today. They flush everything that made X file X file down the toilet. There never were any aliens.

There were, but many of the alien plot lines were faked. Kind of stinks, but it does make sense of the convoluted alien factions and plans, well sort of.
Episode 3 of the revival is great though.

I never watched the Old X-files, but enjoyed the first episode of the new X-files. What was different about the old show?

No... the aliens are our benevolent protectors, and not trying to colonize earth. The REAL bad guys are a bunch of old white dudes.

It's their way of restoring disorder to the series. They tried to wrap up things in the 9th season and in the films (and did a poor job of it). This is Carter's way of saying, "You can go back to questioning reality. Our "answers" aren't set in stone. Mulder still has truth to find."

I mean, if you think about it, what's more likely? That aliens would travel thousands of years through space to make contact with Earth as a means to an end to destroy it, or that men would take that contact and use it as a means of control over men?
It's the ant/boot analogy. If a race of beings possesses the tech to complete interstellar travel with goals of the destruction of earth, then why dick around with it? You take the boot to the ant. In the meantime, we've seen the IRS and NSA scandals come out pretty recently. Why is it so hard to believe?
