I personally think this is Anderson's second best film next to Rushmore.

I get the love for The Royal Tenenbaum's but I just find it ok. The rest of his films are decent enough, I just think The Life Aquatic is on another level.

It's supposed to be terrible which in turn makes it great, well in my opinion at least.

I don't hate it, but it's certainly not one of my favorites. You're right about listing Rushmore #1 however.

Definitely at the bottom of the Wes Anderson hierarchy in my opinion. But I've met people that really enjoy it.

I think I liked the soundtrack better than the movie.

I actually have seen it twice, it's a great film. I didn't find the rewatch as good as the first viewing.

I've seen The Life Aquatic at least ten times and I notice a nuance every time that I think is fantastic.

Grand Budapest Hotel - so far is number three for me

I saw it about ten years ago, haven't seen it since and remember nothing about it except I was a little bored.

Well, I actually respect your opinion so I'll give The Grand Budapest Hotel another shot. Can we at least agree that Rushmore is great?

Life Aquatic and Rushmore are neck and neck for second best behind Grand Budapest.

The only thing that puts Life Aquatic ahead of Rushmore, for me, is the soundtrack.

The movie is awesome.

It just takes a certain kind of viewer to appreciate it. So many great lines.

I always want to enjoy a Wes Anderson movie, and have watched all of his movies at least once, and most I attempted rewatches.

The problem is, not long into any of his films, I start loathing the man, whom I've never even seen or heard an interview of.

I mean the pompocity of his work is ridiculous. "Hotel Chevelier" is without a doubt the most pretentious piece of shite ever I've seen. I don't care if it was a send up or a reference to another work. It is so bad that Portman's arse can't even salvage it. It ruined my day.

My unsolicited list:

Rushmore
Fantastic Mr. Fox
Grand Budapest
RT
Darjeeling Limited
Moonrise Kingdom
Bottle Rocket
Life Aquatic

I truly like them all though but I find Zissou to be the least "re-watchable".
