That's what I love about this show. Without context, it's some of the dumbest shite ever but it is so well written and acted that it draws you in and when the craziness happens you totally buy it.

Saw this on Reddit, thought it was interesting. What if the scene with Nora from the end of this season's first ep wasn't from the future, but after she experienced a substantial amount of radiation.

Also on Reddit, what if the radiation is just an elebarote joke about microwaving the leftovers?

Another great episode. I don't know where this is all going.
One thing that I was confused about was the 4 women and Kevin Sr. Do they not know that he is Kevin's dad? If they knew that man was Kevin's dad then you would think they would know a lot more about who Kevin is and that he isn't Australian. They could ask Kevin Sr. to help them find him. So I am going to guess that he hasn't let on who his son is.

At this point is looks as if they only have the text from the gospels. They probably did't go into Kevin's origins in the books. That said they could also be religious fanatics just blindly looking for anything remotely close to the text. It also reminds me of the scene in the first seasons where Kevin is smoking and some old ladies pull up in a car and mistake him for someone else. Could they be looking for Kevin SR all along?

But you don't think Kevin's dad realizes who the book is about? He has to know and must be keeping his mouth shut.

How do they have the gospel of Kevin if there's only one copy and it's in Jarden?

The production values on this show are off the charts. It is a sumptuous A/V experience.
There are a ton of great shows out there these days and in recent years, but most ultimately follow familiar formulas. The Leftovers is an exception. Fargo is an exception. Game of Thrones is an exception. I never know what those shows are going to throw at me and all three are executed so well. They are in a class by themselves.

The Leftovers has the best audio and sound design/direction of anything I've ever watched

My God, the bouquets you guys throw at this series. I've watched this since it's inception, enjoy it, but all this praise is so over the top. Here we are in season three and none of us have a clue what we are watching, but we like the aesthetic, and so we are ranking it up there with the truly great series of all time? And yet we have no real idea what we are watching? Seriously, if they don't wrap this up in some way that fits in some kind of satisfying spiritual or psychological payoff, people are going to scream like it's the end of their (tv) world. I feel like I'm going to be left saying, "was that it?"
Just keeping it real. Be gentle.

this isn't the thread you're looking for. You can go about your business. Move along.

I don't need shows or movies to explain everything to me. I enjoy thinking about and wondering what something meant for a long time after seeing it, even if I will NEVER get a true answer. I enjoy reading the never-ending amount of theories created by people far smarter than I am and sharing my own. Nothing against you, you like things wrapped up with a bow and then getting to open it. I like being blindfolded and told to guess what something is by just feeling it. Different strokes for different folks.

No bro, I don't need a bow , I just need more than a writer's vanity project . I was a Twin Peaks devotee 25 years ago. Like Twin Peaks, any long term evaluation of this series depends on how they resolve all these little plot points they have left lying around. Twin Peaks failed to do that and Left fans scratching their heads and unsatisfied. In the end, if you can't provide a coherent resolution to 20 swirling plot lines , you fell short. It's the difference between glib art and meaningful art. I'm hoping they wrap it up substantively as well as stylistically.

I love this series, but you bring up valid points. They have over a dozen completely open-ended plots going right now. Its ok to have that during the series, but I really, really hope they at least navigate them all to central confluence by the end of the show. The answers don't have to be clear or neat, but they need to focus our attention on a central question, not 20 different ones.
It is very disconcerting that the writers said "the ending will be wildly ambiguous".

This isn't the Berkeley chapter of The Guilty Remnant, snowflake. Although a drone on this worship thread might be appropriate. Gotta shake up all this crown polishing with some obvious points.

All in good fun man! No need to get serious. While I don't agree with your post, every thread needs each side. I just appreciate that you actually watch the show and are not one of those "watched the first two episodes and I could not get into it" types, just wanted to come in here and bash it and run.

No, I think the show is great and have been with it since the debut. I just think people need to slow their roll a bit. Would still fight you at the Sonic.
