I am not entirely sure, most likely a VPN. Only reason i know new episodes come out weekly is because I'm down here and Netflix puts them up every week. You could also download firefox and the hola add-on and go to bbc iplayer, and that also works.

I'm probably going to finish reading The Pale Horseman today, so I'm getting pretty pumped for season 2.

Would that be Uhtred, son of Uhtred?
Just watched S2. It was very good.

Damn this show is good but I find it funny that Uthred go "if we don't take care of this shite now, we will get frick over!"
And lo and be hold, they are fricked over and ignored Uthred consul. That fight scene with Kjartan was so damn satisfying.

Watching episode 1 now. Aethelflaed is much older than at this time period in the books and doesn't have 'flaxen' hair, but I'm thrilled this show is back.
I understand the need to speed things up on film.
Best adaptation of source material I've come across yet. Both the books and show are superb.

Yeah I don't know why they couldn't have just given her blonde hair. Then again, Uhtred is supposed to be tall and blonde too. Otherwise the casting is superb.

Well, maybe this is the case of getting the best actor and not the looks? Look at Anikan skywalker where they worried more about how an actor looks than his acting skill.

True.
One thing that does bug me, though, is how Uhtred wears his sword scabbarded on his back.

Well, he does carry his sword on his back during battle in the books.

I'm assuming this is the case. There probably aren't many decent actors that look like Chris Hemsworth. And like i said, it shouldn't have been that tough to have a blonde Aethelflaed but it's not a big deal.
I don't recall Uhtred wearing his sword on his back in the books but maybe he did.

I'm pretty sure he had Serpent-Breath on his left side and Wasp-Sting on his right.
Notice how they don't show Uhtred actually drawing his sword in the show. No way he could get that long sword out of the scabbard easily with it on his back.

That's what I thought. But after 9 books he might've put a sword on his back at some point. I dunno. Guess the director thought it makes him look cool and distinctive.

I just finished episode 2.
Finan is my favorite character in the books.
I'm praying they get him right in episode 3.

I've only watched episode 1 so far, but I think they're going to introduce Steapa. Hope they get him right too. Season 1, Steapa and Leofric were combined and it worked pretty well.

Finan seems pretty good so far.
Steapa is definitely not as simple minded as they make him out in the books.
The scenes between Uhtred and Alfred are captivating and the slave ship scenes really were wonderful at showing how desperate the life of a slave on a ship truly is.
My 2 favorite shows right now are this and Better Call Saul. They are both excellently acted and written yet the direction of TLK has a pacing that is able to convey so much in such a short time while BCS is adept at lingering in the moment without becoming stale.
When there are people making shows like this it makes me question why I still watch The Walking Dead.

Okay, so I'm almost through Season One of this show, and I haven't read posts in this thread yet, to avoid spoilers.
I just have to ask...
Does Uthred ever stop being a total asshat?
Seriously. I doubt I've ever seen a protagonist that is such a dumb a-hole as Uthred.
I actually want to pull for the guy, but he keeps making me not do it.

He's a cocky, arrogant guy that just wants to take back Bebbanburg but keeps fricking up just enough which keeps him under Alfred's thumb, which just makes him angry and resentful.

Because we watch a lot of TV I'm up to episode 8 of season 2 and it's been very good, maybe even better than season 1. It feels pretty fast paced with something serious happening every episode. They are definitely not using TWD showrunners.
