Anybody watched it? Just finished ep 1, and I'll prolly watch some more.
Is it worth getting into?
No huge spoilers please.
*Edited to correct my mistake about the show being a Netflix original.

Yes I like it. It's based on a great book series by Bernard Cornwell. It covers the first two books. Season 2 comes out sometime this year and will cover books 3 and 4.

Show was really good. Source material is great and should make for a highly entertaining series.

Season 2 Teaser:
LINK
Can't wait for season 2 to start. It is actually a British show (BBC) unless Netflix bought the rights from them.
Actually the first season was co-produced by BBC and BBC America. BBC America pulled out and now the show is being co-produced by BBC and Netflix which should be good. First season was on BBC in October 2015, but didn't hit Netflix until June 2016. netflix users shouldn't have to wait months before seeing episodes from now on. I torrented the series as it aired on BBC so I had no idea it was so long before it was on streaming service.

Best adaptation of the source material I've ever seen.
The books and the show are both phenomenal.

S2 is coming out on BBC sometime this spring so we'll probably get it on Netflix around that time too .

There are some differences, but nothing problematic. I still don't care for Uhtred's casting

Thanks for the responses.
The olde English placenames that change to modern names are a neat touch.

I thought it was pretty good. When reading the books, I had Heath Ledger in mind.

Same here, but bigger. A big, living Heath Ledger or Chris Hemsworth type. But it's ok, as long as the actor portrays the aggression and stubbornness which I think this guy will do.

Sorry no pics. On mobile.

I think the casting all around is superb. Especially Alfred and the Danish warlords.

The casting is superb with the exception of Uhtred. He's clearly described in the books as blonde and a head taller than most men. Alfred, Isuelt, Brida, and Ragnar are absolutely perfect.

I'll agree. Uhtred looks nothing like I imagined him, though I grew to like the actor they chose.
