It was one of the best films I have seen in a long time. Excellent acting by Cumberbatch and Knightly.

I would be cautious about making it a date movie. If your potential date is smart and can be quiet for 2 hours, go ahead. Truly, though, you will not want to be interrupted during the film by someone asking you to go pick up a soda or some snacks.

Granted, I am a person who likes complete silence in a movie theatre, and I often go alone to the movies so I can enjoy them without interruptions. I realize that I am probably atypical in that regard.

I haven't seen the movie, but I'm pretty sure I know what happens at the end.

I bet it will surprise you. They did a great job of making an appealing trailer that did not give away the whole story.

Finally got to see it tonight, and I agree with both statements.

I saw it tonight and felt the same way. It had a chance to be a really great movie but the third act felt extremely disjointed.

It could've been a great movie it had focused on the code breaking and the affects they had on the war. It instead took a very bad turn.

I don't think it took a "very bad turn" with what they decided to focus on. Also, exactly what code breaking did you expect them to focus on?

I don't want to put out any spoilers but they kind of glossed over a lot of key stuff about how the war was won which, IMO, would've been extremely interesting considering the "power" they supposedly had and the counter-intelligence strategy they had to fool the Germans.

Maybe I was wrong when I said "very bad turn." It just didn't do much for me. I think the movie floundered for the last 20-30 minutes.
