First book was good, second was repetitive, third was good until the very end which looks like the author just gave up.

I went into the books knowing nothing about the series and thoroughly enjoyed it. As mentioned the 3rd book was much worse than the first 2.

They are a very quick read and dont really have too many dull moments.

There was a movie pretty similar to the premise of the series that I saw awhile ago but I cant remember the name, I believe it had stone cold steve austin in it.

Interested to see how the movies turn out bc I couldnt really figure out if the books were targeted for an adult audience or a teenage one.

it almost sounds like battle royale but only the fighting and the combatants

It's a teenie-bopper, PG-13 version of Battle Royale. If you've read BR, no reason to read The Hunger Games.

It's decent, but if I'd have known this going in I wouldn't have read em. The last book was awful personally.

Doesn't matter. The Harry Potter series made billions of dollars on children's books. I read the Hunger Games on a recommendation from my wife not knowing anything about it. And I really enjoyed them.
