Metallica plays that scene on the big screen before they take the stage (or used to at least). Saw them in Nola 04, and I gotta tell ya...that gets the crowd JACKED for a rock concert!

I saw them in baton rouge in 1992 and they played it back then. what a great concert.

Never seen this and now I really want to. Hopefully I can find it on Netflix or something.

The finale of Last of the Mohicans is close and similar in many ways, but what Leone pulled off is basically unbeatable.

I give the edge to LOTM, but you are correct. Mohicans is a top 5 favorite film for me, and the final 20 minutes is stunning. I don't think there is any better, though there are some close competition (GBU of course)

Although it doesn't hold a candle to GBU, I can't believe nobody has mentioned the final 20 minutes of Open Range. When Kevin Costner walks up to that gunslinger and asks if he killed his friend and the guy replies "yeah, I shot the boy too and I liked it." Then Costner blows his brains out....pretty great scene. GBU is the greatest western of all time though. My personal favorite though is My Name is Nobody.

One of the few movies I've ever watched where every aspect of the movie was absolutely perfect. Such a fantastic fantastic movie.

Also as much as a I love Once Upon a Time in the West, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly was still a way better movie.

There is not a more beautiful, badass, cinematic, musically flawless, perfect finale in history.

Except for the last 20 minutes of Once Upon a Time in the West.

Once Upon a Time in the West is an excellent western epic but The Good, The Bad and The Ugly is the best of the best.

This is such a beautiful version of that masterpiece:

The Ecstacy of Gold

(especially since Metallica don't participate, just the orchestra)
