From what I can tell, it is somehow connected to the X-Men film series, yet is set in an alternate timeline where the X-Men have disappeared and the government is hunting mutants.

Yeah, the first episode was definitely good enough for me to continue watching it next week. It has a different feel than the CW DC shows, and a different feel than Agents of Shield. I'm definitely intrigued.

Very good pilot. The effects and tone were great. The acting was very good as well. I will always like Amy Acker in anything.

This is what Season 3 of Heroes should have been.

Solid acting, good diversity of powers, great tone. It's grittier than Agents or any of the DC stuff. Looking forward to this series.

All of the previews have been VERY Heroes like, so I thought it would have similarities. I need to watch it, have it recorded.

What if the Sentinels torture ole Stephen Moyer and he turns into a vampire when his mutant powers manifest?

Are the characters pulled from actual comics?

All of the previews

Saw a commercial for this show, and the girl was talking about how she can "push the air" (I think that's what it was), and then it showed her getting something to fall out of the candy machine. I was like why the hell would they show that because if she's "pushing air" at a candy machine, then the glass front would prevent that from happening.

I was irrationally mad at that for like two days.

Why on Earth wouldn't you just assume she was pushing the air inside of the candy machine?

Because that's an odd way to phrase it. Pushing air seems like you physically push it, not manipulate it on the other side of objects.

I sure wish this chick that plays Lauren was 10 years older so I didn't feel like such perv thinking she's incredibly hot.

Some are from the comics like Polaris (the chick with the magnetic powers that got caught early on), and some were created just for the show like Eclipse (the dude that was shooting light).
