This is a TV show about a cult of serial killers created by a man who is known for his work on slasher films. You should know going in that you are going to have to leave your brain at the door for a lot of this stuff to work. I wasn't expecting top notch writing or Emmy award-winning acting. I was expecting exactly what I have gotten from this show - which is an hour of nonsensical and enjoyable entertainment.

I didnt know wardens had the power to transfer prisoners
There's no way a warden could have unilaterally made that decision. Even less probable given the notoriety of the prisoner.
This is really a bad show. I mean a really bad show. I understand the desire to suspend all logical thought and attempt to enjoy the thing but that can only go so far before you start to feel like a dolt for wasting an hour of your life on this nonsense.

I agree with all of that as well, however most Superhero movies make more of an attempt to be more real than this show does. There is a difference between a viewer leaving their brain at the door and completely insulting a viewers intelligence. This show makes a full fledged attempt at the latter.

I find it hilarious how upset how upset some of you are getting about this show. I doubt anyone is holding a gun to your head making you watch it (If they are, accept my apologies and prayers sent).

True...but the horror genre has to take more tremendous leaps in logic then superhero films because the genre requires characters to do things normal people wouldn't do in order to get killed or let the killer get away. Some horror films do this better than others. And while I agree there are certain aspects of the show that insult our intelligence I also accept the fact that it has to on occasion due to the show's outlandish plot.

My wife might as well be. Instead of a gun, I am being threatened with sex. You decide which is worse.

Cannot argue with that. Its just overall irritating is all.

This is getting stupid!
Haven't watched last night's episode yet. But i did want to comment after last weeks episode. They had me as a viewer up until last week. I mean come on. It's the same reason i stopped watching 24 3 seasons ago. enough with the damn plot twists. I understand you have to string along the story, but maybe plan ahead in your storyline, instead of saying "frick it, everyone is a follower".
I'm giving it last night's episode (watching tonight) to decide if i'm sticking with this one.

The Following is starting to separate itself from the pack:
The Following #1 in the ratings on Monday night
8.6 million viewers with a 2.8 share in the demo. Not too shabby.

I don't quit on shows. I just can't. It's weird. I am more entertained by the awful writing than anything now.
One more thing to point out from last night: most notorious serial killer in the country who has recently been on the news again walks into a crowded building and nobody notices him.

Yep.....these are the same people that love NCIS and CSI....your typical formulaic CBS dramas so they love this shite out of this edgy, smart, drama.
Get some HBO or watch AMC or FX and broaden your horizons geezers.

Do any of yall actually watch shows for their enjoyment and not to rip them apart because they stretch the truth a little?
I'm shocked that most of yall actually like television shows and movies at all.
