Seriously, who is she?
Alyssa Campanella, former Miss USA. Not sure why she's trolling this thread, but welcome.

there is a difference between a new take and "in name only" take. I don't think the character is bad, but that's certainly not Barry's "voice".
But keep in mind that this is an origin story. On Arrow, that Oliver Queen doesn't really have the same personality or mannerisms as the Oliver from the comics either. But the showrunners have stated that Arrow is a take on his origin story, and that his personality would also be evolving into the Oliver from the comics (as a matter of a fact, they have stated that we will see some of his quick quibs start coming out this season). So while the Barry that we see now may not be the same Barry we see by the end of the series.

Is iron heights prison mentioned in Arrow? Seems familiar
Posted on 10/22/14 at 12:10 am to MasCervezas
It was the prison that housed Moira Queen in Arrow last season, and has been mentioned a couple of other times on Arrow.
Now how there is an Iron Heights that housed characters from both cities I don't know unless both cities are in the same state in this universe.

the main thing is that this character is not Barry Allen. This is (white)Wally West. Secondly, the lead is not masculine enough to play Barry and the guy playing Thawne would make a much better Allen.
I agree that Gustin doesn't have the Barry look down(or Wally for that matter) but I don't agree on the Wally West take. Other than the need to take in copious amounts of calories and a bit of a sense of humor, they're pretty different. Wally's identity was publically known, he had no job, much less the CSI gig, and the sense of humor that I was speaking of was cranked up to Spiderman levels. I loved Wally West and this guy is no Wally West.

Allen is very mid-western like Kent, very methodical in his approach and is probably smarter than any character at STAR LABS.Just my two cents
I'm not terribly well versed in Barry Allen but you seem to be describing the 1956-1985 Barry Allen. Since DC has resurrected him, they've gone more of the path that you see on the show. CSI nerdy type, demanding boss, always late for everything, etc..
I'd like to see them spend a little more time on Barry's CSI work, like that scene in episode 1 when he analyzed the tire tracks but I don't find that the Barry we're seeing is that far off. From the current version that is.

For super villains these guys go down in a flash.
My take on this show is that everyone's powers are so new they no sure how to control yet. They introduced the "meta" prison for them. So some should come back.

The prison doesn't seem very thought out to me. Who is gonna feed all these villains? I doubt there are bathrooms in there.

love the flash and liking the series so far. I'm just a casual fan. so, this may be an obvious question... but, does the fiance' who was "killed" in the first episode eventually come back and a meta human?
Posted on 10/22/14 at 8:38 am to Esquire
I actually thought that also. Mist is on his own, I guess.

He is Ronnie Raymond who becomes Firestorm.

Don't over think it dude, it's a show based off of comics.

It's just like how they created the prison on the island where they put Slade at the end of Season 2 of Arrow. It appeared that Oliver, Felicity, and Diggs were the only other people on the island after they dropped Slade off.

thanks... i obviously don't follow this as closely as most. Just seems like everyone else who got messed up that night ended up with some kind of power.

Wondering how they're going to work Martin Stein into the Ronnie Raymond accident.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. Have they even mentioned him yet on the show?

Here is a link to an interview that Robbie Amell (the guy that plays Ronnie) did about his upcoming role on The Flash: LINK
And FK...I think they may have hit a homerun in casting Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein. It'll definitely be interesting to see how they work out the interaction between the two characters.

they could go for a more modern take and introduce Jason Rush who actually becomes firestorm but with Ronnie in his head or vice versa.
Those complaining about Barry's personality have merit. but its like Bamatab said, the show OVERALL is an origin story. the character cant just start off as the character we know. they want to develop him into that, just like Arrow is constantly changing after the things he encounters. as a big wally fan, this is not like wally.
one thing i noticed (and might a stretch) but the justice mural in the police station clearly has a Jay Garrick figure on it fwiw.
wells has to be zoom. they have pretty much beat us over the head with it. im really curious as to what the episode 8 crossover event is going to be. im wondering if itll involve cold or heatwave since they dont seem to be metas and will have their weapons instead.

I did an image search for the actress playing Felicity and it was one of the pictures that came up. Didn't notice it wasn't her, but, to be honest, I never did look at her head.

I don't think any of us minded that error PT.
