Behind the Scenes Look at ‘Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F’

RICHARDSON – In a recording studio in Richardson, engineers and voice actors have been hard at work recording voices for “Dragonball Z: Resurrection F.”
The movie was made in Japan, in Japanese. Now, FUNimation and OkraTron5000 are replacing the voices with English versions.
We’ve all seen bad English dubs, and that’s why these guys go the extra mile to make sure the new dialogue feels just right.
“It’s incredibly important. You’ll notice we always reference the Japanese first,” said Christopher Sabat, who’s the English voice director for the film and also voices Vegeta and Piccolo. “You’re looking for anything that you can do to make your voice sound like it’s coming out of that character’s mouth.”
Even in the fight scenes!
“It is physically demanding,” Sabat said. “If you aren’t sweating by the time you get out of one of these sessions, you haven’t done your job properly.”
It’s a lot of work, but Sabat has been lending his voice to DBZ characters for over 15 years, and he says it’s all been worth it.
“The one thing I hear the most is, ‘Dude, you were my childhood, I listened to your voice every single day.'”
Once they finish the mixing process, “Resurrection F” in its final form will be in theaters August 4-12.

Dragon Ball Super Begins July 5th

The Dragon Ball anime returns with Dragon Ball Super! The initial announcement by Toei Animation revealed the series would begin on a Sunday in July, but no specific date was mentioned. We at Saiyan Island had suspected it may be the first Sunday, July 5 and today a new scan from Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine confirms that to be true – The Dragon Ball Super anime begins July 5, 2015 in Japan at 9:00 AM (Japanese Standard Time)!
Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, is credited for the original story & character concepts for Dragon Ball Super. No details on the actual story, however, have been announced for at this point in time except it will take place after the Majin Buu arc. Episodes of Dragon Ball Kai’s Majin Buu arc are currently airing in Japan and the series is expected to end this month.
FUNimation, the company behind Dragon Ball in North America, has not yet announced any information about an English version of Dragon Ball Super, dubbed or subtitled. If things go as we hope them to, there should be an official version of Dragon Ball Super episodes on the web as soon as they air in Japan.
Dragon Ball Super will kick off with an opening be titled “Chozetsu ? Dynamic!” (Chozetsu = Transcendence) and will be by Japanese singer/songwriter Kazuya Yoshii. The ending theme will be by Japanese rock band Good Morning America, who has lent their talents to Dragon Ball Kai in the past, and titled “Hello Hello Hello”.

Goku won't look like a farmer for long. Depending on the direction the show goes, Goku was supposed to pass the torch to Uub. Aren't they cutting that part out, and continuing from the end of the Buu saga?

Maybe one day, Gohan will take over. I doubt it happens anytime soon.
