Fantastic movie. Coppola is the Terrrel Davis of directors. His peak is as good as it gets, but not sustained excellence.

Very good movie. Check out Michelangelo Antonioni's "Blow-Up" and De Palma's "Blow Out" if you haven't seen them. Those three movies form a trilogy.

I read that The Conversation was inspired by Blow-Up (or something to that effect).

Need to put "captain America" or "comic" in your thread title to get more views. This board is pathetic

Agree with your thoughts!

Whether it's true or not, he might tell them it's kind of a prequel about that guy that was in Enemy of the State. The comic book crowd loves to discuss prequels.

Could even say something like, "It's the last Will Smith movie that didn't include his kids." This board hates Will's kids.

The Conversation, like many of the best 70's movies, was gritty and true to life.

Son of a bitch this golden commentary. The sad thing is its true, every bit if it.

70s Coppola is Ruthian. Untouchable and to never be duplicated. The Conversation is really kind of forgotten. He even competed against himself in the 1974 Oscars… crazy.

Hackman was also so good. Caught the end of The French Connection earlier and you forget just how great he was.

Also sneaky great cameo by Robert Duvall in The Conversation and that final scene in his apartment is just chilling… great movie.

One of John Cazale's six films (including Godfather III). All six nominated for Best Picture.

Wasn't he basically dying during The Deer Hunter? Very sad, but unbelievable fact about his movies.
