These faith-based films are being produced like hot cakes these days.

Anyways...The Case for Christ is the true story of Lee Strobel, an award winning journalist for the Chicago Tribune, who gets pissed off at his wife when she starts practicing Christianity. An atheist, Strobel sets out on a quest to prove to his wife that Jesus Christ - if he even existed at all - couldn't have been the man he and his followers claimed he was.

These films fall into the same stock just slightly below Tyler Perry films.

If he existed, he was either a con or a loon. Mystery solved.

Lots of Christians would go watch a film of paint drying for three hours if you market it to them as "Christian."

I am fascinated with biblical history but I doubt I watch this. Really don't need a journalist to sell me on any religion.

Not true. Outside of passion, i really cant stand to watch these films. They are very cheesy.

Maybe some kifetime channel moms watch them

Until you experience the presence of God you couldn't possibly understand it.

I read that book about 10 years ago and enjoyed it. At the time, I considered myself more of an agnostic although I do fully believe in 'something' so I guess agnostic isn't the correct label.

If I remember, he starts by trying to prove whether or not Jesus actually existed (comes up with evidence that he did), then focuses on his claims to be the son of God, etc.

Even if you do not believe in Christianity, I think most people would agree that Jesus Christ was one of my important historical figures of all time. The fact that there are so many unknowns makes the story even more interesting.

I think most scholars agree Jesus existed. It's all the other details up for debate.

That's not true.

There's almost no mention among ancient historians.

I mean, we can't even get what happened 100 years ago right..and some modern scholar is going to prove what couldn't be proven 1000 years ago?

Scant evidence within the period we are discussing.

There's no mention of a lot of things by ancient historians.

The problem with these movies is they're usually about a non believer being turned into one or the Christan main character winning at everything.

The plots are usually boring, the acting is pretty bad, and the cheese is just too much
