Never posted on this board before but I highly recommend this movie. No spoilers but an engaging movie start to finish. Geoffrey Rush is outstanding. Cenematography is great with a great story.

I concur. Really good under the radar movie.

I agree it's a very good movie. Rush is outstanding but Sylvia Hoeks and Jim Sturgess are equally impressive.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!
Beautiful sets and wonderfully acted, but I was extremely disappointed in this movie.
SPOILERS BELOW
I really shouldn't even have to put a spoiler tag on this because I saw it was a con in the first ten minutes and then had to wait an additional two hours to see how it played out. I kept waiting for a twist but, nope, it played out just how I thought it would.
Anyone who has ever seen a con movie before would have figured the con, the mark, and the players almost immediately. It was as subtle as a locomotive.
And the premise is preposterous. The mark is in a business where provenance is critical. I just can't believe that he could fall for the old Spanish Prisoner gag.
ETA to make it clear that I AM NOT recommending this movie.

Just watched it - wow, after that ending I wasn't sure whether to be impressed or go kill myself
I know what movie to show someone if they are being a little too chummy

Spoiler
I wish it was 5 min longer. Were the con artists the owners of that restaurant???? I get why he couldn't go to the police, although he lied to people he legally purchased the paintings. But telling the police would have tarnished his entire career and reputation.

Spoiler
Let me rephrase, I know he was there hoping to see the girl. But was he there for love or revenge? The restaurant looked like the boyfriend designed it with all the clocks put together.

I took it as he was there for love. I forget the line exactly but something about a tiny bit of truth in every lie or something like that. He was there for that tiny glimmer of love in the con.
BTW You might want to "Spoiler Alert" your post above.
