Aside from being a dick, you completely missed the point of his story.

Back in those days, we didn't have a million channels, vcr's were still a luxury item, and Star Wars was a major cultural phenom. I don't know how many times I watched my dubbed vhs copy growing up, but it was enough that the opening music never sounds right to me without the catch and whine of the old cassette copy.

Before we got our first hand me down vcr, I always wanted to hang out with the only kid I knew who had one. No telling how many times we watched Superman, Star Wars or Empire.

I was a kid during that era too. I enjoyed movies too and still do. There was literally no movie then nor now that I would care to watch that many times. If I know the dialogue and the upcoming scenes after a couple of views, what would I expect to get out of cranking up the repetition to 100?
