If you thought Disney learned any lessons from the past year, rest assured they did not. Here are some quotes from the creator of The Acolyte on her approach to the upcoming Disney+ series.

quote:

The Acolyte creator Leslye Headland recently confirmed that the upcoming Star Wars series on Disney+ will be a commentary on current American society, culture, and politics.

quote:

Not only did Headland confirm the show will be a commentary on current American society, culture, and politics, but she seemed to imply the focus of the show being on female villains are self-inserts.

“When I was a young queer girl, I was just hanging out with Ursula the sea witch [from The Little Mermaid],” she told the outlet. “As a queer girl growing up, if you don’t identify with the heroes, and the villains show up and they’re all queer-coded, you’re like — yes, that’s me!”

quote:

Back in June 2021, Headland confirmed the series would be female-centric during an interview with YouTuber Fantastic Frankey.

She said, “Just because my show is technically yes, ‘female centric,’ meaning it centers around a female protagonist. I don’t think that necessarily excludes men from that space.”

quote:

Headland would go on to explain, “Listen, I relate to male characters all the time. Like I root for Mando. Like I root for Luke. I like deeply, deeply… Well, not sure how much I care about Han Solo anymore. When I was little I really liked him. When I watch him now, I’m kind of like, ‘Gosh a lot of my psyche makes sense now. Hmm. Ok.”

“All joking aside, I think that truly, I think that an inclusive space means an inclusive space. But at the same time I think that just because something has a female protagonist doesn’t mean it’s only meant for women,” she added

They are going to make the villain an Orange alien, aren't they?

So she's a dumb bitch that is already setting up her excuse for why nobody watched, because everybody is a racist, sexist homophobe.

Even a generally bad show like Book of Boba Fett produced some great episodes, this show doesn't stand a chance of doing that because it's yet another piece of "message above all else."

Anyone who talks this way as an adult should be removed from society.

Translation: Han Solo is a toxic male bastard and I want him eliminated from Star Wars history. The Force Is Female now!

This is only surprising because she's outright telling us what she's going to be doing. If you were paying attention you knew it'd be hyper-woke.

At this point they have to be doing this shite on purpose to see just how many SW fans they can piss off. And I can almost appreciate that, except that they also bitch on the back end about why these things aren't successful and cry about imagined bigotry. You can't have it both ways. Just come out and say "The Force is female, and if you don't like it then don't watch it" and then be content with how shitty the ratings are, and I'd at least respect you more.

They need to turn everything over to Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau.

If you listen to George Lucas in interviews, Star Wars has always had a focus on culture and politics. Colonialization especially. So I didn't think outright saying that was really straying from the past at all.

The rest however is probably going to doom the project.
