In the remastered version they replaced Anakin's head at the end with Hayden Christenson. Why in the remastered version didn't they have Qui-Gon Jinn as a ghost there too? Isn't he the one that discovered how to communicate after dying. I get why in the original they didn't put him there because people wouldn't have known who he was. Also I'm guessing Sebastian Shaw was pissed when he found out his head got replaced.

so you looked up who Sebastian Shaw was but you didn't see that he died before Alec Guinness

Because Luke would have no idea who he was.

It wasn't just his head, it was his whole body was replaced, right? But simply, Luke did not know who Jinn was.

Also, I want to say that in a story arc of season 6 of "The Clone Wars," Yoda learns about the "force ghost" stuff and I believe it was beyond what Qui-Gon had mastered before he died. But he was the catalyst for it.

Perhaps someone can correct me on that, if I'm wrong.

Well Luke had never seen what Anakin looked like when he was young so makes no sense that he'd see him look like Hayden.

This is true, which is why it was such a dumb move by Lucas.

Well, that's an issue with the Special Editions, not the original cut.

Lucas handled Star Wars like a moron, except if viewed in the light of using a movie to create toys for kids.

The original Star Wars has a quality possessed by no other film in the franchise. He watered it down with each subsequent episode, and became more annoying personally as time went on.

It's also the version of Anakin that killed youngling jedi. It should be of Shaw after he redeemed himself by killing the Emperor.

This is correct. QuiGon told Yoda how to do it but he was unable to master it before he died.

Thanks to Sasquatch Smash and elprez00 for the answer...appreciate it. I've only seen a few episodes of the Clone Wars.

Honestly, if they wanted to show a more "pure" or "innocent" version of Anakin, they should have dug Jake Lloyd out of hiding.

The reaction to that would have been quite something.

Are the original, unedited versions still available? Some of the changes were needed but were rather minor in the grand scheme of things (like re-mastering the light sabers or inserting Ian McDiarmid into Episode 5). Others, like replacing Shaw and Han firing 2nd, were terrible

adding the subtle "thunk" when the stormtrooper hits his head in the doorway was a worthy addition.

Seems stupid IMO. Yoda and Obi Wan were all depicted in their elderly forms, why would Anakin be young?
