Is this news? I had no idea, but Rian Johnson is set to direct Episode VIII.
He did Brick, Looper and the greatest episode of Breaking Bad: Ozymandias.

Yeah its not new. Im not a fan of Looper but it was more a problem with the writing than the direction.
