Her acting style bugs the hell out of me.

Hated her as Rosalind Shays on LA Law and still chuckle to this day that they had her fall in an elevator shaft.

Hated her as Pulaski.

It was interesting to see she uses the BITCH FACE style of acting all the way back to her TOS episodes.

+1000. The dude who said Sandra Bullock is a wretched count was sorely mistaken. That woman would be Diana Muldaur. I would have enjoyed seeing Pulaski beamed into open space as much as watching Rosalind get the shaft.

I see the Chicagoland episode was recently covered. I'll always remember it as the one where Kirk called Spock "Spock-O". Thinking about it cracks me up to this day.

Really weak spot on TNG was the doctor - Gates McFadden wasn't really much of an actor - unsure how she got the job - she was a choregrapher, primarily of Jim Henson's Muppets - and had a few roles here and there, mostly related to that type of work before landing the gig on TNG. I always felt like Beverly was just along for the ride - early on, she seemed like an excuse for Wesley to be on the ship.

And her 2nd Season sub, Pulaski, was very unlikeable and that's tough to pull off for a healer character. DS9 and Voyager had much better doctors, although there remains only one Leonard McCoy.

What's interesting about Muldaur's run on Star Trek is that she always played characters with the title doctor - in this episode, she's Dr. Ann Mulhall, in the third season episode, "Is There in Truth, No Beauty?" she plays a Dr. Miranda Jones, and in TNG she plays Dr. Pulaski.

Of the three, only Mulhall is anything remotely approaching a "likeable" character.

They tried to make her a female McCoy, even to the point of her taking jabs at the unemotional Data.

But whereas Spock often needed taking down a peg, Pulasky's comments came off as much too harsh on Data, who was very child-like.

As for Sargon - obviously in human form he was portrayed, brilliantly, by William Shatner. However the voice of Sargon from the receptacle (and later, from the Enterprise herself) - was by our own favorite chief engineer - James Doohan:

Nimoy also did a good job in this one. I always get a kick out of seeing Spock show emotion, and the Vulcan makeup suits the devilish Henoch perfectly.

This is also the episode with the "Risk is our business" speech.

I may may be in the minority, but I rather liked Muldaur in this episode.
