I never did watch it straight through, just here and there over time (and probably missing a lot of episodes anyways), so I wanted to sit down and do a full rewatch all the way through.
I'm not done with it, but wow, it is as good as everyone claims, and as I always thought just given what I had seen. Season 4 has been incredible. More interesting that TNG, better themes running through, better characters.
Anyone looking for sci-fi should give it a watch.

I was addicted when it first came out. Looking forward to the Star Trek themed reboot.

It quickly became my favorite over TNG. Hell, they used the Changelings from it to become a major force (for a while) in the ST universe.

It kicked into gear when Worf and the Defiant showed up.
Garak the Tailor is one of my favorite Star Trek characters of all time.

RIP Miguel Ferrer who was in DeepStar Six:
Now I know what you're thinking, what does this have to do with Star Trek?
He was also in Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock.

Garak is my favorite Star Trek character.
I do get sick of Kai Winn by the end.

Seasons 6 & 7 are awesome (I'm not sure what all you know about DS9, so I won't go into anymore details as to what happens in the last two season).

I'd probably agree.
Sisko is the GOAT captain for sure. Kira, Odo, Warf so far in 4 have all been awesome. And I do enjoy O'Brien's overall arc.

I definitely find it more "realistic" than other ST series in some of the conflicts you'll see later.
It is also the only time I've ever seen either show or movie put the fleet in Star Fleet.

‘The Visitor’ (season four – written by Michael Taylor, directed by David Livingston)
This is the best episode of any Star Trek ever on Tv. The actor that played the elderly jake was the same that had a reoccurring roll as a Klingon. That is one of the finest hours of tv period. Exceptional sci-fi, but you felt Jake's pain after losing both parents in a horrible way.
Ds9 was the best series.

Ira Steven Behr is doing a documentary on the show that will include interviews with most of the cast, and a part where they reassemble the DS9 writers to plot out a hypothetical 8th season. Here's a link to their Indiegogo (they've already hit all their goals):

Binge watched it a while back and it took a little bit to get in to but it was really good and way better than what I remember as a kid. Only watched a little bit when I was younger.

I started this last week and only watched the first two episodes. After reading this thread I think I'll give it another chance.

Got a glimpse of the fleet, or at least all available ships, at the end of Voyager as they return home.
I'll have to give DS9 a try sometime. I watched it a bit sporadically in the past, but never got into it. Odo growling at Quark just didn't grab my attention.
